Daniel Bernard Nahon is a professor at the Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence, honorary professor of the Institut Universitaire de France, chair of Soil Science and scientific advisor of the Europôle de l'Arbois, and founder of CEREGE, European Center for Research and Education in Environmental Geosciences - Joint Research Unit University of Aix-Marseille/ Collège de France/CNRS/ IRD/ INRA- Europôle de l'Arbois, Aix-en-Provence and his is also a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Recognized as one of the best soil specialists in hot countries, he was President of CIRAD (Centre for International Cooperation for Development) from 1999 to 2003. He is the author of about 200 scientific publications and 8 books, including Science of the Earth, Science of the Universe and The Exhaustion of the Earth.
