Terry Roberts

Former President, International Plant Nutrition Institute, Canada and United States

Terry L. Roberts was President of IPNI until it ceased operations in 2019. He is a former President of the Potash & Phosphate Institute (PPI) and Foundation for Agronomic Research (FAR). Terry has 30 years’ experience as a soil scientist and agronomist working in the global fertilizer industry. He currently provides consulting services to the fertilizer industry. A native of Alberta, Canada, Terry grew up in a family-owned and operated retail fertilizer business. He received a B.S.A. in Crop Science (1981) and a Ph.D. in Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition (1985) from the University of Saskatchewan. He has been a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) since 1999. He was recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) in 2001, a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) in 2017 and received ASA’s Agronomic Service Award in 2013.
